A Career in Unilever Personal Care

From world-leading brands and new product innovation to diverse career paths, discover what a career in Personal Care could look like.

What is it like to work in Unilever Personal Care?

With hygiene, beauty and self-expression increasingly overlapping, there has never been a more exciting time to join our €13.2 billion business group. Here’s why helping grow brands like Dove, AXE and Rexona could be a smart career move for you.

But first, let’s cover the basics.

So, what does Unilever Personal Care do?

Personal Care is where everyday routines meet global scale, fast-moving culture and science-led innovation. Across developed and emerging markets, our brands reach millions of people through products, experiences and campaigns shaped by different needs, habits and cultures. For you, that means the chance to work on brands that are part of daily life, but constantly evolving with the world around them.

Personal Care spans three core categories: Deodorants, Skin Cleansing and Oral Care. Together, they include brands such as Dove, Dove Men+Care, LUX, AXE, Rexona, Lifebuoy, Closeup and Pepsodent.

That work comes to life through brands that are stretching what everyday personal care can do, from elevating hygiene and skin health to creating products and experiences that feel relevant in people’s lives.

From AXE (known as Lynx in the UK) stepping into fine fragrance, to Dove bringing skincare-grade ingredients like hyaluronic acid and vitamin C into the shower, our brands are pushing what ‘everyday’ bathroom products can do.

Our brands also show up in culture, from sport and music to creator partnerships and collaborations. This gives teams the chance to connect daily routines with moments that consumers already care about.

What does a job in Unilever Personal Care involve?

There are many ways to contribute, depending on your skills, interests and experience.

Roles span areas such as science, consumer insight, marketing, customer development, digital commerce, operations and supply chain. Depending on your role, you can help shape products, experiences and campaigns that reach millions of people every day.

How likely am I to work on new products?

Innovation is central here, combining technology, science and consumer insight to improve how products look, feel, work and fit into people’s lives.

Working in Research and Development could see you help solve challenges for the next generation of products, from discovering new formulations such as our MicroMoisture technology to developing new textures, scents, packaging technologies and product formats that elevate the consumer experience.

And innovation does not stop in the lab. In Design, you could help create packaging experiences and visual identities. In Marketing, you might bring limited-edition launches or brand partnerships to market. In Consumer Insights and Customer Development, you could identify emerging trends, unmet needs or new occasions. In Operations, you could help bring innovations to consumers faster and more efficiently.

Wherever you sit in the business, you can be close to what is changing, from the first insight behind an idea to the moment it reaches consumers.

What careers are available in Unilever Personal Care?

While scientists, engineers and formulators play a critical role, we also need people who can understand consumers, build brands, lead digital growth, shape customer relationships and bring ideas to market.

In a media landscape that is always on and always changing, we need storytellers and communication experts who can reach people across channels, communities and moments.

Because our brands are visible on shelves, in homes and across social media, the work can shape how people see, choose and talk about them.

That’s why we need people across marketing, communications, consumer insight, sales, digital commerce, design and brand teams to tap into culture and tell the right stories to the right people at the right time.

When our brands show up on match day, at a festival or in a limited-edition collaboration, the work is about turning cultural attention into stronger brand relevance. Recent examples include Unilever’s role as the Official Personal Care Sponsor of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ and Dove’s cookie-inspired shower gels with Crumbl.

Can I build a long-term career in Personal Care?

Yes. Personal Care can offer hands-on experience across brands, markets and projects, with opportunities to build skills in areas such as innovation, brand building, customer development, digital commerce, operations and leadership.

But don’t take our word for it.

Parnil Sarin’s career shows how a starting role here can build into broader experience across markets, functions and categories. She joined as a trainee in 2006 and is today Global Brand Lead for Lifebuoy.

“Fresh out of business school, my management trainee experience was a whirlwind introduction to the organisation, from sales and brand teams to factory operations. What stood out was that, even as a trainee, I was entrusted with critical, high-impact deliverables from day one,” she says.

Just a year later, she was promoted to Sales and Customer Manager, moving closer to customers, retail teams and frontline execution.

“This chapter brought me to the frontline, where I led 21 sales officers and 120 beauty advisors, many with far deeper on-the-ground experience.”

From India to Singapore, and from Personal Care to Beauty and Wellbeing and back again, Parnil’s career has crossed countries, categories and functions.

“Now, my mission is to reimagine Lifebuoy for today’s world, evolving its heritage of protection into a ‘skin-ready, life-ready’ idea centred on skin health and transforming the brand into one that feels modern and culturally alive.”

What's changing in Unilever Personal Care?

Technology and AI are helping teams spot trends faster, use market insight more effectively and respond to consumer demand and cultural moments with greater speed.

This is not just about products. It could mean identifying the next trend, building digital commerce, developing new fragrance innovations through our Fragrance Hub in India, advancing science and technology through our new global innovation centre in the US, or creating immersive brand activations.

For you, that means work that can sit at the crossroads of science, technology, creativity and culture, with opportunities to help shape products, campaigns and experiences used by people around the world.

This ambition is also reflected in how Personal Care leaders talk about the team and its potential.

“When I joined Unilever, I said my mission was to make sure people who work with me fulfil their personal and professional aspirations. The people working in Personal Care are phenomenal. If we all raise the bar of excellence, this team will be the best in the industry.” Fabian Garcia, President Personal Care
